November 29 - When William Hill Bingo ran a competition recently
with a grand prize of a new Fiat Panda car up-for-grabs, players
rushed to the premier online bingo site to try their luck, but
Lady Luck rewarded just one person, a player called Raymond.
Then a strange thing happened. Raymond was nowhere to be found to
collect his brand new Fiat Panda courtesy of William Hill Bingo.
Of course, executives expected that as soon as Raymond was
declared as the winner of the car at William Hill Bingo,
he would have been down at William Hill's offices in a flash to
drive away in his sexy new Italian motorcar worth a non-too-shabby
£6,600.
But Raymond didn't come forward to claim his prize, nor has he
answered any of the messages sent out by William Hill Bingo asking
him to do so up to now.
The online bingo room is so eager to tell the William Hill Bingo
car winner about his good fortune that they they have even sent
their staff to literally walk the streets of Durham City - where
Raymond reportedly hails from - with megaphones, in the hope that
he'll hear them and come forward.
Tony Kenny, a spokesperson for William Hill, explained the
efforts being made to track down the lucky but elusive player.
"We had the vehicle ready on the low loader from Stockport for
the trip to Durham a fortnight ago," said Kenny. "But then we
failed to locate the winner, a chap called Raymond, who has the
somewhat unusual internet nickname of Rayamok."
"We're on the ground literally searching Durham for Ray - who is
clearly more elusive than the Scarlet Pimpernel, and we are that
desperate to find him that we're putting wanted posters out in our
shops."
William Hill Bingo Winner Remains a Mystery
The prize for the Fiat Panda was drawn on October 26th and it is
over a month since Raymond has remained elusive, and it is highly
unusual for William Hill Bingo winners not to come forward to
claim their prizes.
"In all my years of business, I've never had such a big winner
fail to turn up," said the District Manager for William Hill in
Durham City, Keith Inkster.
"Never in my entire career have we had to do anything like this,"
he said referring to William Hill Bingo staff walking the streets,
calling out Raymond's name on their megaphones.
"We've been searching Durham and district to no avail," he said.
"So now the search will spread further. But it's a bit
embarrassing for members of staff as literally nobody knows this
particular Ray."
