April 30 - While the traditional UK bingo scene may be struggling with
new legislation, heavy taxes and smoking bans, the general bingo scene in the
country is improving, thanks to online bingo sites. As more and more players
seek somewhere to enjoy a great community vibe, exciting games and rewarding
prizes, they are finding it through online bingo, if the latest statistics are
anything to go by.
The British Bingo Association released figures showing that over 8.5 million
citizens enjoyed a game of UK bingo, either online or offline, last year. The
figures further showed that 15% of this number were made up of younger places
were had discovered the game for the first time.
In fact, the younger generation overall seems to be moving in the direction
of bingo by selecting it as their primary form of entertainment. According to
the British Bingo Association, 45 percent of the bingo players in the United
Kingdom are under the age of 35, doing away once and for all with the stereotype
that bingo is a game enjoyed only by the over-70's in dusty church halls.
Other surveys have shown that tens of thousands of young women in the United
Kingdom under the age of thirty five are enjoying online bingo as a way to
unwind and meet friends, as they would at their local pub after work. State of
the art technology has allowed online bingo rooms to install advanced chat
feature that makes socializing a breeze at many of these sites.
It is hoped that the traditional bingo scene will improve through the
relaxation of taxes and stringent laws, however, until then, UK bingo fans are
finding all their fun online.
