March 27 - Only yesterday we reported on the record bingo winner,
Soraya Lowell, a 38 year old mother of four who made world history after
grabbing the highest bingo prize ever. Lowell, who played the National Bingo
Game Platinum Jackpot at her local bingo hall over the Easter weekend, walked
away with a stunning 1,167,795 Pounds.
The story took a heartwarming turn of events in the past twenty-four hours
after the record bingo winner said in a statement that she would be
sharing half her winnings with her elderly neighbor, Agnes O'Neill. O'Neill, who
is considered a close friend, as well as a constant bingo partner, was with
Lowell when she realized her massive windfall on Saturday night.
In explaining the reasons behind this rare act of generosity, Lowell, an
office cleaner by profession, said: "We always share whatever either of us wins
and this time will be no different."
Agnes O'Neill, 68, was understandably jubilant about the news and praised
Lowell endlessly. "I have had a rough time the last three years," she said, "I
have been very ill and Soraya has cared for me which meant my husband did not
have to retire early. She has been wonderful to me. What she has done for me is
absolutely something else."
Soraya Lowell celebrated with friends and family as she got used the title of
record bingo winner, but she has vowed to keep both feet on the ground and
return to work as an office cleaner this week. Her children, however, have
quickly gotten used to the idea and are requesting 'little somethings' from
their lucky mum.
"They have all put in wee orders," laughed Lowell, "The two oldest want
convertibles and don't even have licenses yet."
