Prince William Takes a Liking to Bingo - 10-09-06

While you may not be surprised if someone told you that Britain's Queen Elizabeth II was a huge bingo fan, given that she is a little old lady and all, you would surely be surprised to learn that Prince William is himself a bingo fan.

Prince Willy and a couple of his friends were spotted by a British tabloid trying their luck 'down the ol bingo hall' last week Friday in the English town of Reading, not far from Sandhurst, the famous military academy William is attending as an officer cadet.

Who knew that the 24-year-old heir to the throne was a fan of bingo and a gambler to boot. It was reported that the intrepid young royal signed up at a local bingo hall, where he paid five pounds for a book of five bingo tickets.

The Prince supposedly played bingo for nearly an hour but wasn't lucky enough to win any of the bingo hall's 20 pound prizes. When asked for a comment, a royal spokesperson confirmed that Prince William has, in fact, played bingo in Reading.
