April 2 - A new bingo show run by Game Show Network will present participants
with one of the most well recognized faces in the entertainment industry - that
of Patrick Duffy.
Duffy, most famous for his role in the long-running primetime television
drama, "Dallas" as J.R. Ewing's younger brother, Bobby, will host the bingo show
that will operate in an interactive format and give contestants the chance to
win real money.
The game calls for players to download a bingo card from gsn.com and play
along with in-studio participants. If players at home happen to get a bingo they
can win $50.
In an interview this week, Patrick Duffy said: "That's really where the game,
I think, gets its energy - knowing that all of those people at home are playing
along. A lot of money passes hands. And at the very end we eliminate a bunch of
people, and one person gets a chance to win $100,000 every show. It's very
cool."
The show, which will broadcast every weeknight, will put one lucky member of
the studio audience to stand in line to win the one hundred grand jackpot.
"It's a very strange way to do a game show because it involves people who
watch between their toes at home," quipped Duffy.
After leaving "Dallas", which ran from 1978 to to an incredible 1991, Duffy
appeared with actress Suzanne Somers in the ABC sitcom, "Step by Step" about two
people trying to merge their families into one happy bunch. In 2006, Duffy
moved back to drama television after joining the cast of the long-running soapie
"The Bold and the Beautiful", as Stephen, Brooke Logan's father.
Duffy's new role as bingo show host is sure to be just one more step in this
actor's colorful career.
