Obama Stepmom Launches Game on Gala Bingo - 01-20-09

January 20 - The new President of the United States, Barack Obama, has touched countless lives with his inspirational tale of a meteoric rise to become the most powerful man in the world.

And now the Obama name will be touching even more lives, thanks to a new venture launched by his stepmother, Keiza Obama - a dedicated fan of the game of bingo.

Mrs. Obama has linked with Gala Bingo to launch a brand new charity online bingo game, with all the proceedings going to the site's chosen charity of the year - Sue Ryder Care.

The news has been welcomed by many in the bingo industry, as well as by the charity itself, which understands just how much of an impact the Obama name will have on influencing people to play the new online bingo game.

"It's great news that Mrs. Obama has decided to lend her support to help raise vital funds for Sue Ryder Care," said the Chief Executive of the charity, Paul Woodward. "We hope as many people as possible get involved and join in the fun. By supporting Sue Ryder in this way people across the country can make us make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people we care for each day."

The new game will be available for players to enjoy until January 23rd, every weekday from 8 to 9 pm in the City Club area of the Gala Bingo site.

Commenting on the upcoming inauguration, Keiza Obama said about her famous stepson: "I'm so proud of him. I sent him a message congratulating him. I am delighted to help Gala Bingo raise funds for the Sue Ryder Care Charity. It is a really positive way of celebrating Barack's inauguration."
