Ladbrokes Bingo Spends Millions on Ad - 10-03-08

October 3 - Just as we were getting used to the typical bingo ads aimed at housewives, with their corny themes and voiceovers, Ladbrokes Bingo comes along and raises the standard of bingo site advertising by a mile.

Ladbrokes decided to make a statement with its latest promotion and turned to the famous advertising M & C Saatchi to help with its mission. Ladbrokes made it quite clear that money was not a factor that needed to be considered when thinking up the ultimate ad, and gave the advertising team 3 million GBP as a budget.

Finally, with a theme thought up, nearly 200 extras, actors and their accompanying crew descended on Liverpool and delighted the locals with a filming session that certainly brought some color to the city.

Huge 13 foot sphere bingo balls were filmed in the ad, causing a spectacular site for curious onlookers who came to watch the creation of the Ladbrokes Bingo advertisement.

There were a huge number of takes, not all of them successful, and many of them funny enough for Ladbrokes Bingo to run on its its site as 'behind the scenes footage'.

The ad in its entirety, with the 1960's hit, "Fun, Fun Fun" as a background track, can be viewed at Ladbrokes Bingo as well, although regular UK TV viewers have surely seen it on the Box by now.

"With a total campaign budget of over 3 million Euros, this has been one of our biggest projects to date and we are thrilled with the finished ad," enthused the Acquisition Marketing Manager at Ladbrokes Bingo, Charlie Goodenough. "The nation is in for a treat when when they see the giant bingo balls run amok in one of the country's most prominent cities."
