Huge National Bingo Game Win Recorded - 06-06-08

June 6 - A 64 year old grandmother of three, hailing from Exeter in the United Kingdom, is still in shock after she won an incredible 639,000 GBP at the local Mecca Bingo Club.

The prize was part of the National Bingo Game Sunday Playoffs which requires winners to line up 45 numbers in order to grab the progressive jackpot.

The woman, who works as a hospital administrative assistant requested anonymity but said about her win: "It just won't register how much I have won and I'm still in shock. I had two or three medicinal brandies, and I woke up with a sore head this morning. Thank God it was Bank Holiday Monday and I could sit at home and try to come to terms with it! I joined Mecca Bingo in 1993 and I drive two friends from the village to play bingo there every Sunday. I had already won a 60 GBP house earlier in the evening before hitting the jackpot. When I got home, I showed it to my husband who doesn't play, and he was over the moon with that."

The woman said that when she showed her husband the club prize he was thrilled, but when she showed him the claims form for the huge progressive jackpot win, he didn't quite understand the meaning of it. "He thought it was 639 GBP," she said. "When he realized there was also three noughts, he needed a brandy as well."

The lucky winner is not sure how she will spend her windfall, although she will definitely buy her husband a new shed to put their lawnmower in. She will also treat her family to a few luxuries, and her gift to herself will be a brand new car.
