June 19 - A 38 year old mother from Plymouth in the United Kingdom, who makes
her living as a cleaner, is still pinching herself in disbelief after winning
the UK National Bingo Game at the weekend.
The woman, who prefers to remain anonymous, won a whopping 69,000 GBP in the
second largest computer-controlled game (after the Lottery) in the United
Kingdom.
Since its inception in 1986, the UK National Bingo Game has awarded an
incredible 980,000,000 GBP in prize money to lucky winners.
The Plymouth win was made at the Charles Cross Gala Club on Sunday evening
and the winner has promised to share her windfall with her daughter who shares
her mother's love of club bingo.
"I wasn't quite sure what was going on at first, but my daughter told me how
much I had won," said the woman, who admitted to still being "shocked and very
shaky".
When asked what she intends doing with such a lot of money, the woman replied
that she already had some plans forming in her mind. Besides paying off some of
her bills and purchasing new furniture for her home, she has her eyes on a new
car. "I've just started learning to drive," she said, "so I can now buy myself a
car."
The lucky winner has been a member of the Gala bingo club for the past twelve
years and, according to her, she plays there once or twice a week. Her windfall
came at the weekend after she completed a full house in only 43 numbers, the
lowest call in all the bingo clubs in the country that night.
Two years ago, she won 2,000 GBP playing at the club, while her daughter won
1,000 GBP a couple of months ago.
