Bingo Puts Casino and Town Back on the Map

It seems that bingo is not only hitting the big time on the Internet through the growing popularity of online bingo casinos, but is also enjoying a resurgence in land casinos.

The most recent example of this is the San Pablo Casino in northern California, owned and operated by the Pomo Indian tribe. In the past the casino was the 'lifeline' of the town of San Pablo but in recent years has seen hard time which has directly affected the town's economy.

The San Pablo Casino chiefs decided to do something to turn the situation around and build up the status and popularity of the casino and, in doing so, breathe new life into San Pablo. The plan they came up with was to introduce slots-style bingo games to the casino.

While they were hoping the games would attract more gamblers, little did they expect that the games would prove such a hit with casino punters that in no time at all the casino was generating millions of dollars in gambling revenues.

San Pablo City Halls received $9 million which proved to be just the cash injection that the San Pablo community needed. No longer strapped for cash, city officials have used the money to cut utility taxes and hire extra policemen.

In addition, the sudden bingo-generated cash windfall has allowed the City Council to almost clear its debt and begin planning for a new community center and sports park. Since the bingo games were introduced, tax revenue has almost tripled!
